Our Unique Children...

Thomas Carlyle:
Quotes on Learning Nothing builds self-esteem and self-confidence like accomplishment.
Tony Dorsett:
Challenge QuoteTo succeed... you need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you.

I believe our creator made us ALL unique other then the physical appearances. We should be thankful for that and embrace everyones uniqueness. My questions and concerns are for our most innocent, our children. They don't quite understand why they may be different then some of the friends in class who can READ, WRITE, SPELL and DO MATH. The school might suggest lack of motivation, immaturity and RETENTION. As a parent we see the stuggle but we also see how truely intelligent and talented they are. Ok, they might not fit the mold of black and white in the education system. These kids see in COLOR. Is that wrong?? I know I'm not the only mother with unique kids. Why do I feel like I am? When I leave these meetings (IEP) the feelings of emotion are overwhelming and frustrating. I can appreciate the quotes above and strive for my children everyday to keep self-esteem and self confidence don't let anyone take that away because you are UNIQUE! EMBRACE IT! YOU ARE HERE FOR A REASON!
